Le Caméléon

Dimensions: 97X48cm / acrylic with glossy coating

The chameleon effect defines a reality, that of the fact that in some way we all function as if we were a mirror for other people. We imitate the emotions of others or at least the emotions that we subconsciously think other people are expressing.

The function of the chameleon effect, from an evolutionary perspective, was foreseen by Charles Darwin. The gestures we make partly determine how we feel. In the same way, the signals emitted by other people will influence us. This allows personal well-being to be greater and it also allows us to integrate into groups.
